My Approach

Navigate Your Life’s Path

Psychotherapy is an investment in the quality of your life. You may begin therapy because a situation in your life has become too problematic or overwhelming, or, despite your best efforts, you feel caught in a repetitive, destructive or nonproductive pattern. You may be experiencing low self-esteem, family dilemmas, anxiety, panic attacks, depression or other life stressors. I combine talk therapy with behavioral and cognitive techniques in individual, group and couples sessions. During psychotherapy with me, you will work to see your struggles in a new light and strive to make positive decisions based on strengths that come from within.

I draw on over 30 years experience as a therapist to offer insight, wisdom and support as you develop greater self-esteem and more fulfilling relationships, lessened depression and reduced anxiety. While I’m empathetic and a deep listener, I am not a quiet therapist and am often direct and challenging.

Collaboration between client and therapist is central to my approach. Together, we will develop a therapy plan to meet your specific needs in light of your lived experience from childhood to adulthood, as well as current issues, challenges and long-term aspirations. We focus on viable solutions and work to achieve goals as quickly as possible, while making lasting change in how you approach and cope with life and relationships. The changes you make are likely to also benefit those around you, including your spouse or partner, children, friends, and coworkers. In addition to seeing individual clients and couples, I work with other leading therapists to facilitate group therapy sessions.
